# The Langford 50 and the Transformation Honors

Annual honors for the people and programs that changed how organizations work, decided by an independent panel on verified evidence. Free to enter and never for sale.

### The Langford 50

An annual, unranked list of the 50 people whose work did most to improve how organizations change. Each honoree is published with a citation based on verified evidence, and the panel names one Change Leader of the Year.

## The judging process

Eleven judges: an independent chair, three executives who have sponsored major transformations, three senior in-house change leaders, two academics in organizational change, a measurement specialist and a specialist in regulated industries. No judge may work for a firm that sells change management consulting or software. Names and biographies are published with the rules.

- **1. Screening**: The honors research desk checks every entry for eligibility and completeness.
- **2. Recusals**: Judges declare any connection to an entry in the previous 36 months and do not see, score or discuss it.
- **3. First read**: Two trained readers score each entry; a third reads any entry on which they differ by more than 15 points.
- **4. Verification**: Every quantitative claim is checked against documents. Unverified claims are removed before judges see the dossier.
- **5. Panel scoring**: At least three judges score each dossier independently. Scores are standardized to correct for lenient or harsh scoring.
- **6. Deliberation**: The full panel, minus recused members, selects honorees by majority vote. Minutes are reviewed by the Editorial Standards Board.
- **7. Final checks**: Citations are fact-checked with honorees, who may correct facts but do not approve wording.
